I must say I am very worried by biofuels for the simple fact that no matter what we do, the industry will be (and has been) taken over by large corporations that will exploit people and the land to make profit. It seems obscene to me to use land to grow food for cars and not people! Also, unless we used recycled oils, the industry would simply not be sustainable at our current rate of consumption. The answer is to cut down on our excessive consumption, start growing our own vegetables etc, use public transport, etc and only after we have done these things should we start finding solutions in renewable fuel and energy sources. If only our governments would provide us with efficient and clean public transport systems. . . I don't have any trust in them, nor the corporations. We need to take control of the situation ourselves and work together for sustainable communities. At least, this is what I believe to be the solution. . .

There is another problem you fail to mention. The fact that each news agency feels they need to send news ALL the time. Therefore they are taking stories that MAYBE would have made the local paper and turning them into national stories. In other words, we know are being fed "news" stories that are so stupid and not important it is becoming ridiculous! Take for example CNN, they don't even bother to write their own story but instead just link to a story from an affiliate new agency.

The sad fact is these news agencies are giving what people want. It is simple: supply and demand. It is not the news agencies that are desperate for mundane news but rather the people.
